Sadly, we have to announce that this year’s Swiss Italian Festa has been postponed until October 2021. This probably won’t come as too much of a surprise to you with all the uncertainty about the impact of COVID19.
The Committee is deeply disappointed about having to do this, but felt we had no choice given the severe social and economic restrictions we are all facing, and which fall across our key planning and preparation time. We can’t guarantee that we can run a Festa in October 2020 at this time and not wanting to wait until the last minute and cause further upset in the community, we had little choice but to postpone.
We are totally committed to the return of the Festa in 2021. It’s such a great community event celebrating the legacy of the Swiss Italian settlers in our wonderful region. We are in this for the long haul, and we hope you will be too. The generous support of our friends, partners and sponsors has been, and will remain, critical to the success of our Festa as we recommence planning for October 2021.
Be assured that the Festa will be back. In fact, we are hoping that we can stage some smaller events later in the year, pending the COVID19 recovery, to keep the promise of the Festa alive. Stay tuned via our Facebook and Instagram.
Viva la Festa!
